ACT/NSW Country has taken out the Twenty20 title at the Cricket Australia Under 18 National Championships in Hobart with an eight-run against Queensland.
In a low scoring affair, ACT/NSW posted 117 batting first with Kayla Burton (47) and Anika Learoyd (32) doing the bulk of the scoring.
Ruth Johnston (2-11), Julia Cavanough (2-17) and Georgia Voll (2-26) finished with multiple wickets while WBBL-contracted bowler Charli Knott was measly with 0-15 from her fours over.
In reply, defending champions Queensland stumbled early with opener Ellie Johnston (2) dismissed on just the third ball on the innings.
A number of starts from the middle order ensured the tally kept building, including 26 off 23 balls from Caitlin Mair.
The total proved too much however, with the ACT/NSW Country bowling Queensland out for 109 on the last ball of the innings.
Alisha Bates (4-12) starred with the ball with four wickets, while Allison McGrath (2-18) finished with two wickets.
Both sides finished the minor rounds undefeated at the top of their respective pools with four wins from as many matches and progressed to the finals after the semi-finals were washed out earlier in the day.
The competition now moves to the 50-over format tomorrow, full fixtures can be found here.
